Lil Boosie's Lyrics To Be Used Against Him In Court

A judge in the Lil Boosie murder case has ruled to allow some of the rapper's lyrics as evidence in his murder trial. Judge Mike Erwin granted the motion to have three of the Louisiana native's lyrics submitted to show intent in the prosecution's case against him. The ruling was reached following a four-hour pre-trial hearing Tuesday (April 24). Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, is accused of hiring a hitman to murder Terry Boyd back in 2009. The shooter, Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding is also wanted in connection with six other murders in the area. Interrogative detective Alvin Howard, of the Baton Rouge Police Department, testified that lines like "187," "murk" and "cake," found in Boosie's music reference the killing. Howard also said that Louding admitted to being paid $2800 to commit the murder, yet the defense argued that the detective never verified where the funds actually came from. Since his incarceration, Boosie—who was rumored to have died behind bars— has continued to release new music, and penned a letter to fans thanking them for their support. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

"Justice for Trayvon Martin" Rally To Mark Two-Month Anniversary Of Teen's Death

The parents of Trayvon Martin, will make the two month anniversary of their son's death with a massive rally to be held in Los Angeles Thursday (April 26). Coordinated by the NAACP, the National Action Network, Empowerment Movement, and the Rainbow Push Coalition, the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation Los Angeles Rally will be held at the West Angeles Church North Campus, Thursday (April 26). A mixture civil rights figures, celebrities, and citizens will all come together to show their support for the Martin family. Special guests include NAACP president Benjamin Jealous, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Ervin "Magic" Johnson, Chaka Khan, David Banner, Mary Mary, and Big Boy. The purpose of the event is to advocate for victims of senseless crimes and their families, as well as educating young people on conflict resolution techniques, and increase public awareness of racial profiling. The Florida teen was killed by George Zimmerman on Feb. 26, while on his way back from a corner store. Zimmerman has claimed self-defense under the rules of Florida's controversial "stand your ground" law, which has since been brought up for review, in wake of Martin's death.

President Obama Covers Rolling Stone, Not "Worried" About Singing In Public

As President Barack Obama cranks up his re-election bid, and fends off criticism from Republicans, the POTUS has been on a three-state college tour in a reported step to pander the youth vote. After wooing audiences last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and showing off his smooth vocals, the president just landed the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, looking as dashing as ever. The cover story for the famed publication marks the fourth time he's been interviewed by Rolling Stone. Although the interview ran over an hour, Obama stuck to stern campaign talk and focused on pertinent matters mostly. However, he did loosen up to discuss his, rendition of Al Green's hit "Let's Stay Together," saying that he was confident he could pull off the performance—which has since gone viral. "It's about 10:30 at night, and we go up to the Apollo. I wanted to hear Al Green," shared Obama. "The guys who were working the soundboard in the back, a couple of real good guys, they say, 'Oh, man, you missed the Reverend, but he was terrific, he was in rare form.' So I was frustrated by that. "Since I was on my fifth event and have been yakking away for several hours on all kinds of policy stuff, I just kind of broke into a rendition of 'Let's Stay Together.' And they're like, 'Oh, so the president, you can sing, man. You should do that onstage.'" Although senior advisor Valerie Jarrett was against the move, Obama coolly handled himself, as he typically does. "I can sing," he said. "I wasn't worried about being able to hit those notes." In an inevitable showdown against Willard "Mitt" Romney this fall, the incumbent should easily administer the fade in winning a second term. So get prepared to see a whole lot of Obama in the coming months, ahead of November's big day.

TLC Planning Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Hologram Tour

Tupac's hologram is inspiring resurrections from other dead musicians. TLC is reportedly next in line to bring their group member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes back from the grave, for their forthcoming 20th anniversary tour. A rep for Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas announced the tour news to TMZ Wednesday (April 25), and according to the site, Left Eye will "pull a Tupac." Her music will be incorporated into the show, while her image will be projected onto a big screen. As of now TLC has booked five venues for the tour, and are in the midst of locking in more dates. If they are to follow Dr. Dre's lead in making Tupac appear at Coachella, TLC may want to travel down a more frugal road to bring their deceased group member back on stage. The Good Doctor shelled out $10 million for the imagery, plus made a hefty donation to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, as a thank you to his mother for her approval. In commemoration the 10-year anniversary of Left Eye's passing, T-Boz and Chilli reflected on the day she died. "She died a day before my birthday," she told Essence. "I remember everything. I was with security in my Porsche and I said to them, 'I feel like I'm going to get in a wreck and I want to go home.' The driver said: 'Well, that's on the other side of town.' I didn't care; I wanted to go home. I just felt something was going to happen to me, but it wasn't me — it was Lisa. I was sitting in a rocking chair in my daughter's room after putting her down when I got a call from Chilli. She was screaming. I had just gotten out the hospital from fighting sickle cell so I had to be careful about getting upset. Everybody was trying to keep me calm." Lopes died in a car accident during a trip to South America, which she filmed for a VH1 documentary.
