Will Smith Goes 3D For “Men In Black 3″

Sony has revealed details about the upcoming “Men in Black 3″ movie, which is the latest installment of the hit franchise starring Will Smith.

The new “MIB3″ will be in 3-D, according to Sony, making it one of four Sony films to utilize the technology from this year.

Earlier this week, Will Smith, director Barry Sonnenfeld and Sony worldwide CEO Howard Stringer appeared at the CES 2012 convention, where they debuted a new trailer for the movie.

In addition to Will Smith (“Agent J”), “MIB3″ features Tommy Lee Jones reprising his role as “Agent K,” while Josh Brolin plays a young “Agent K.”

Nicole Scherzinger, Alice Eve, Emma
Thompson and veteran actor Rip Torn also have starring roles.

The new installment centers around Agent J and Agent K traveling back in time to 1969, to fight an evil alien.

According to stats released by Sony, the 3-D industry is becoming quite profitable with films burning a total of $6 billion worldwide.

In addition to Barry Sonnenfeld directing, Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment is serving as a executive producer of “MIB3″.

“MIB3″ is due in theaters on Memorial Day.

Ludacris Closes Straits Restaurant After Announcing New Culinary Venture

Straits Atlanta, the Asian fusion restaurant owned by rapper Ludacris, is closing its doors after four years of operations. Located in midtown Atlanta, the restaurant featured a blend of Asian cuisine by restaurateur, Chris Yeo, who owns five other restaurants, none of which are being affected by the closure.

Featuring signature dishes like Kung Pow Lollipops, a delicious hand-held chicken dish, Straits, despite its celebrated entrees and celebrity owner, suffered from low-guest turnout, perhaps due to the high-priced menu that somewhat excluded Ludacris’ hometown, urban fan base.

The rapper’s latest venture, Chicken N Beer, a new restaurant located in the newly-expanded Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, serves “comfort foods and craft beers using locally-grown ingredients.” “As I continue to learn and evolve as a businessman, I am extremely excited to put my restaurateur footprint into a new venture inside the busiest international airport in the United States, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” Ludacris stated.

Named after Ludacris’ 2003 release, Chicken N Beer is one of 150 restaurant and retail ventures that were approved to open at the busy airport, while Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club proposal was denied. Luda’s close relationship with Atlanta Mayor, Kasim Reed, is rumored to have also helped him in his bid to secure the contract at Hartsfield-Jackson, which accommodates 89 million passengers per year as one of the world’s busiest airports. Ludacris was a strong supporter of Reed’s mayoral campaign in 2009, which was won by less than 800 votes.

Straits Atlanta is currently listed as closed “Until Further Notice.”

Rocko Talks Developing Future, Plans for Sophomore Release, “One of One”

While most Hip-Hop fans remember Rocko from his 2008 Billboard chart-topping hit, “Umma Do Me,” fans might not know that Rocko is partially responsible for one of last year’s biggest hits, “Tony Montana,” by Atlanta artist Future.

Rocko, who heads up the label A1 Recordings that released Future’s records, has his hands full, as he also is planning the release of his sophomore project, One of One.

In the meantime, Rocko has been steady at work on a slew of mixtapes that have hit the streets to critical acclaim.

“I put the mixtape [Gift of Gab] out because my fans were asking for the music, so I put the songs out online, just to give the streets something so they can hear Rocko,” Rocko explained to in an exclusive interview. “I let the streets pick the singles, and the streets really force my hand to put out the singles. That’s how it works, though; the streets will let you know what they like.”

But Rocko’s plans to follow up his 2008 debut release with One of One, are being carefully planned and executed as the title has great meaning to Atlanta trapper turned rapper.

“One of One is the title, because I feel like I’m ‘one of one;’ there’s nobody on God’s green earth exactly like me, just by my code of ethics, my morals and values. I never compromise my integrity, it ain’t too many people out here left like me. I would starve with some real people than eat chicken with a chump.”

When asked about the role he plays in the career of Future, one of Atlanta’s fastest growing artists, Rocko explained that he doesn’t have to manage him because he spends plenty of time in the studio on his own time.

“Future, that’s my brother. He’s the first artist signed to my record label, A1 Recording. He said he wanted to be an astronaut, so we went to Pluto,” Rocko told “I mean, when it comes to him [Future], he makes those beats what they are, he wants to rap on a beat that don’t nobody else want. When it comes down to his beats and all that, he makes his own records and everything, that’s how he rocks,” he explained.

“I have conversations with the label, and I talk about how I think things should go. I handle the day-to-day business with the producers, but a lot of my business is on auto pilot, because Future likes going to the studio and he is always in there.”

Rocko’s next mixtape, Seeing Is Believing, will feature T.I., Jeezy, Future and several others. No release date has been announced at the time of print.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Take Baby Blue Ivy Home From The Hospital

Proud parents Jay-Z and Beyoncé reportedly left New York City’s Lenox Hill Hospital with their first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, yesterday (January 10).

Sources say Beyoncé and Jay-Z left the hospital under heavy security and a motorcade to confuse paparazzi seeking flicks of Blue Ivy.

In a statement earlier this week, the couple stated that Blue Ivy’s birth was extremely peaceful and that, despite rumors, Beyoncé delivered the baby through natural childbirth and not a C-section as was widely reported.

According to the Carters, Blue Ivy weighed 7 pounds when she was born on January 7.

“It was the best experience of both of our lives,” the couple said in a statement. “We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support,” the couple said.

Bond Denied For Slim Dunkin's Accused Killer Young Vito

The accused killer of Brick Squad Monopoly rapper Slim Dunkin has been denied bond.

Vinson Hardimon aka Young Vito, will remain in Atlanta's Fulton County Jail on murder and gun possession charges following a court appearance Tuesday (January 10).

Detective David Quinn told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he's gotten witnesses to come forward in the case.

“I put up the testimony of two witnesses,” he said, referring to Tuesday's hearing. Quinn added that Young Vito left behind evidence at the scene of the crime.

“His laptop was left behind with his name on it,” Quinn said. “And his name was on the dry-erase board as next up to rap.”

Police say the 28-year-old shot and killed 24-year-old Dunkin, real name Mario Hamilton, on Dec. 16 at an Atlanta recording studio during a fight that started over a piece of candy.

According to AJC, Vito has been arrested at least four times since 2004 on charges ranging from aggravated assault, cruelty to children and gun offenses.
