DJ Pauly D Officially Signs with 50 Cent's G-Note/G-Unit Records

He's talked about it, but now Pauly D is officially a member of 50 Cent's music group.

The "Jersey Shore" star officially signed to the rapper's G-Note label Thursday. The label focuses on dance and pop music — a good fit for Pauly D, since he's known as a DJ as well as a reality star.

He's been working in music since he was 16 and parlayed his success on the MTV hit series into becoming an in-demand DJ. Pauly D even joined Britney Spears for a few dates on her recent "Femme Fatal" tour as an opening act.

A few months ago Pauly D confirmed that he and the rapper were working together.

50 Cent said Pauly D was a "great addition to G-Note and G-Unit family" and called him smart and creative.

Kanye West Leads Grammy Nominations With 7. Check Out The Full List Inside + Performances From Rihanna, Ludacris, Lady Gaga, Lupe Fiasco & More @ Nominations Concert

For the second year in a row, a hip-hop artist is leading the pack in Grammy nominations.

Although his name was only called for one category during Wednesday's (November 30) "Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!," Kanye West walked away with a leading seven nods, following the hip-hop trend set by last year's leading nominee, Eminem. He's nominated for his Watch the Throne joint album with Jay-Z and also picked up a few nominations — including Song of the Year — for his powerhouse collaborative track "All of the Lights," which features Rihanna, Fergie and Kid Cudi. He's even nominated against himself, with Watch the Throne and his own My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy nabbing Rap Album of the Year nods.

West was followed by this year's critical darling, Adele, who is tied with the Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars for six nods each. Lil Wayne and dance-music breakout Skrillex each garnered five nods.

While the Grammys have a reputation for catering to an older demographic (Robert Plant and Alison Krauss for 2009 Album of the Year, anyone?), this year's nominees are notably young, with 34-year-old West looking downright geriatric next to fellow nominees Adele (23), Rihanna (23), Lady Gaga (25) and Bruno Mars (26).

OPRAH SETS WENDY STRAIGHT!

Wowzers. You have to be slightly influential to receive a letter from Oprah. Such is the case for gossip and talk show host Wendy Williams. After O’s BFF Gayle King left OWN to go co-anchor the new, reformatted CBS morning show, Wendy assumed it was because the duo was having a spat.

She took time out on her show to urge the besties to not let their friendship die. We guess it worked because Wendy actually received correspondence from Oprah!

The letter read: “I know there’s been some speculation that Gayle and Oprah had a falling out because Gayle will be hosting the new morning show on CBS. I wanted to make sure everyone knows that there is only happiness for Gayle and this wonderful opportunity.” It concluded with a smiley face and was signed “Love, Oprah.

FANTASIA NOT WANTED FOR “MAHALIA” BIOPIC ANYMORE

According to the NY Post, “Producers are also furious with Fantasia, 27, for not telling them about her unexpected pregnancy until she was four months in. “She [initially] claimed that she was putting on weight for the role,” an insider said.

Production has been pushed back because of her unplanned pregnancy.

“The family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia,” executive producer Adrian Taylor told the NY Post. “They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.” Barrino’s pregnancy has also caused chaos with scheduling conflicts because filming has been delayed until after her due date on Dec. 27. Director Euzhan Palcy may be forced to drop out of the project.

DRAKE GOES ON FIRING SPREE

Drake is cleaning house. The 25-year-old Canadian-born rapper whose album “Take Care” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts last week fired his managers Gee Roberson, Al Branch, Kyambo Joshua and Cortez Bryant of Hip Hop Since 1978, the firm that also manages Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.

The “What’s My Name” rapper also gave notice to his agents at International Creative Management including Dana Sims and Robert Gibbs, who were “panicked” yesterday about their outstanding deals with the chart topper. William Morris Endeavor agent Brent Smith’s assistant confirmed that he has taken on the Cash Money artist. Smith also reps David Crosby, Snoop Dogg and Graham Nash.

“Drake just felt like there were too many hands in his pockets,” a source said. “He was getting pulled in too many different directions.” Our source added there was conflict between the rapper’s original management team in Canada and the ones he picked up along the way. “His team from Canada is trying to wrestle back control,” a source said. “He may go back to them to streamline things.”

Manhunt For N.J Man Wanted For Killing His Own 2 Year Old Daughter Ends With His Arrest In California

When Arthur Morgan III is returned to Monmouth County, he will be held on $10 million cash-only bail in connection with the murder of his 2-year-old daughter, Tierra Morgan-Glover. Morgan will appear in a San Diego courtroom for an extradition hearing at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time Thursday – the first step before he is returned to New Jersey to face charges of killing his daughter.

Monmouth County authorities contend Morgan killed his daughter, Tierra Morgan-Glover, by tossing her into a stream in the Shark River Park in Wall Township while she was still strapped in her car seat on Nov. 21.

Morgan was captured Tuesday after answering the door at a San Diego home around 4:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time where he was met by U.S. marshals who had surrounded the house, according to Steve Jurman, supervising deputy of the U.S. Marshals Service in that city.

Morgan is alleged to have killed his daughter on Nov. 21, after picking up the girl from her mother, Imani Benton, 24, of Lakehurst, for a court-approved visitation. He told the girl’s mother he intended to take Tierra to see the movie “Happy Feet Two” and would return around 6 p.m., although the visitation allowed him to keep the girl until 9 that night.

Following a tense four hours from 6 to 10 p.m. – a period that included 59 text messages from Morgan to Benton reassuring her the little girl was “resting,” Benton said Tuesday – the mother called police at 10 p.m. to report her daughter had not been returned home.

Morgan had been last seen alone on the platform of the Asbury Park train station between 7 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 21, just hours after he picked up Tierra from her mother, according to Warshaw.

Morgan must have boarded a northbound train in Asbury Park, because later that night he got on a bus heading for Richmond, Va. that left from Newark Penn Station, said Special Agent Bryan Travers, spokesman for the FBI in Newark.

The bus pulled into Richmond around 5 a.m. on Nov. 22, where 40 minutes later Morgan boarded a second Greyhound bus to continue to his intended destination of San Diego, a source revealed.

With Morgan on the bus just outside Johnson City, Tenn., several teens walking in Shark River Park called police just before 2:30 p.m. to report their grisly discovery of the dead toddler partially submerged in the creek there at an underpass for Schoolhouse Road, Warshaw said that day.

Morgan remained on board the Greyhound bus until about 2 a.m. the next day, Nov. 23, when he transferred to another bus in Memphis following a 40-minute layover there. About 12 hours later, Morgan got off that bus in Elk City, Okla., but failed to re-board the bus to continue on his trip, a source confirmed following revelations from James Solomon, 33, of Woodbridge, one of Morgan’s cousins, who said Morgan may have known investigators were hot on his trail.

“Police missed him by one stop, I was told,” Solomon said.

It is not clear when Morgan got back on a bus, but a source confirmed Morgan did arrive in San Diego on a bus within the next few days before he was found at the Euclid Street home where U.S. marshals captured him Tuesday afternoon.

“I’m glad they caught him,” Ida Frances Shaw, the aunt of Morgan’s mother, Jane Morgan Brooks, said today. “It’s a relief on that girl’s family and a relief on our family.”
