Snoop Dogg Says 'Detox' Near Completion "I Aint Never Say It Was Almost Finished Before"

By now we've all heard that Dr. Dre's 'Detox' album is "almost done" enough times we're not quite sure what to believe. The disc will be Dre's last as an artist and is one of the most highly anticipated albums ever. The producer has a reputation for being a perfectionist, so maybe it shouldn't be surprising it's taken so long. The wait however, might finally be over.

In a new interview with NME Magazine, Snoop Dogg says the album is near completion.

"I ain't never said it was almost finished. He might, but that's my first time I ever said it. I was always saying it was taking too long to get done. It feels good now," Snoop told the publication via Contact Music. "We've been working on it. It's almost finished. So that's coming out soon. We got Slim [Eminem] on it."

Before you say 'here we go again,' remember it was Snoop who criticized Dre back in May on the Tim Westwood Show for not having the right people around him to finish the project.

“I’mma say this and I don’t know if it’s gonna ruffle any feathers. I just think the wrong people is in the environment. When he made records that were hit records in the past: D.O.C., Snoop Dogg, RBX, Kurupt,” Snoop said at the time. “It’s like it’s pieces that’s not there that need to be there. And I’ll say D.O.C. and Snoop Dogg is the backbone. When you take those two equations and you take them out of the equation it’s not gonna work. You need to put them two back into the situation and let us mastermind and head the project like we did The Chronic in 2001. That’s what’s missing.”

Now that The Doggfather is back on the same page as his mentor, 'Detox' looks like it's finally on the way.

***Breaking News*** Steve Jobs, Apple founder, dies

Steve Jobs, the visionary in the black turtleneck who co-founded Apple in a Silicon Valley garage, built it into the world's leading tech company and led a mobile-computing revolution with wildly popular devices such as the iPhone, died Wednesday. He was 56.

The hard-driving executive pioneered the concept of the personal computer and of navigating them by clicking onscreen images with a mouse. In more recent years, he introduced the iPod portable music player, the iPhone and the iPad tablet -- all of which changed how we consume content in the digital age.

More than one pundit, praising Jobs' ability to transform entire industries with his inventions, called him a modern-day Leonardo Da Vinci.

A Tribe Called Quest Reunites To Discuss 20th Anniversary Of 'The Low End Theory'

Twenty years ago, A Tribe Called Quest dropped their groundbreaking sophomore album The Low End Theory. To mark the anniversary, the four members of Tribe -– Kamaal "Q-Tip" Ibn John Fareed, Malik "Phife Dawg" Taylor, Ali Shaheed Muhammed and Jarobi White –- gave an exclusive interview to VH1 for its two part "VH1 Album-Versaries: The Low End Theory at 20." It's the first time since 1998 that all four members have granted a joint interview.

From discussing the making of the album at Battery Studios to addressing recent controversies that stemmed from the documentary "Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest," which touched on a scuffle between MCs Phife and Q-Tip, the interview is a definitive peek into the album that helped shape hip-hop's landscape. And if there was any recent beef, it now seems their rapport is as strong off-album as on.

When reflecting on time spent at the studio, there's friendly banter: “The snares used to spank so hard in Battery, it used to hurt my teeth,” confesses Shaheed. “The bass was just so aggressive.” Interjecting with laughter, Tip agrees: “Ali definitely blew some speakers in there, a lot!"

There's additional video interviews from MTV's Sway, author Nelson George and journalist Boss Lady, who all give context to Tribe Called Quests' influence and game-changing album. "I think Tribe Called Quest was always what hip-hop was meant to be -- the ability to just be yourself unapologetically," says Sway. He adds, "At the time hip-hop was regionalized and everybody was pigeonholed, which hurt rap... They expressed themselves in a way that had no regional boundaries, no geographic boundaries."

Lil Wayne Remixes Joe Jonas' 'Just In Love'

Until Lou Reed and Metallica's Lulu album comes out, you probably won't hear a more musically improbable pairing this year than Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne, who just dropped the remix to Joe's "Just in Love."

Weezy continues his love streak, following up his bittersweet ballad, "How to Love," with a verse and coda on Joe Jonas' "Just In Love," sticking to the strictly-love theme Joe laid out on the single.

Joe Jonas told Ryan Seacrest about his desire to work with Lil Wayne: "I've always been a huge fan... He's always been one of those artists who's been killing it for the longest time... I remember walking up to him [and introducing myself] ... and he just goes, he's like 'JOOONAS! What you doing man?' and he gave me the biggest bro hug."

Weezy takes the song from sultry-sexy to street, with shouts of "Young Moolah" and "Tunechi." Wayne makes references to his prison sentence with "got my heart on lock" as well as his sexual prowess and longevity, "Makin' love like animals/ Planet of the Apes/ All night all morning." You heard Weezy. He's both in love and willing to go all night, apparently.

Fast Life, Joe Jonas' debut solo album, is out October 11.
