Master P’s Daughter Cymphonique New TV Show “How To Rock”

Master P’s Daughter, Cymphonique Miller is set to hit TV screens across the country with a new TV show called “How To Rock,” that is slated to debut February 4th on Nickelodeon.

Cymphonique Miller, now 15, grew up around the entertainment industry being the daughter of Master P. who is largely regarded as one of the most successful businessmen in hip-hop’s history.

Her brother Romeo Miller also had his own Nickelodeon series, “Romeo!,” from 2003 to 2006, to go along with his rap career as Lil’ Romeo.

“I tried everything in my power to stop this girl because this can be a hard, sick business — really easy to get taken advantage of,” Master P told AllHipHop.com. “I guess you can’t hold raw talent back.”

“We’re hoping for great things from Cymphonique — a big, fat, giant hit,” Margie Cohn, Nickelodeon’s president for original programming added. “That’s what I’ve been working for with this series, so why not say it?”

Nickelodeon and its parent company, Viacom, have created a host of new shows similar to “How to Rock,” as ratings have been down over the past quarter.

Philippe Dauman, Viacom’s chief executive even stated that are “more new shows coming to Nickelodeon than we’ve ever had.”

“Next quarter we expect to see stronger ad sales growth because we won’t have that issue,” he added, referring to declining ratings.

“How to Rock,” is produced in association with Alloy Entertainment who also created “Vampire Diaries,” and “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.”

Nickelodeon is marketing “How to Rock” with an eight-part video series about Cymphonique Miller.

Also Cymphonique sings a song in the first episode of the program “Only You Can Be You,” which arrived on iTunes now. “How to Rock” Cymphonique poised to be the big pop phenom for 2012.

ATF Picks Up Soulja Boy’s October Gun and Weed Case

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has decided to take on 21-year-old Soulja Boy’s case, after the rapper was arrested in October of this year in Temple, Georgia.

Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Cortez Way, was pulled over on Interstate 20 for a traffic violation.

After searching the car, officers found handguns, thousands of dollars in cash and more than five ounces of marijuana.

According to the Temple police, Soulja’s accomplices, Dontay Lamar Bates, Camron Wagner and James Raymond Smith were all charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and were also charged with the possession of a firearm.

“This office has not charged a defendant named DeAndre Cortez Way, a/k/a Soulja Boy,” Yvette Comer, representative of the U.S. District Attorney’s Office said. “Otherwise, we do not confirm or deny federal investigations in any matters.”

John R. Murphy, special agent for the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Atlanta Field Division, told the Times-Georgian that the case did not meet requirements for federal drug investigation.

“There were some initial discussions about taking it federal, but it didn’t make any federal guidelines,” Murphy explained in a statement to reporters. “As far as the drugs, it was five ounces of marijuana, that wouldn’t even register on a federal level. If you’ve got a rapper that could show legitimate income, that could be contested as being legitimate income, and without a substantial amount of drugs, we didn’t have anything that would rate a federal drug charge on that.”

Soulja’s attorney Kip Jones had not returned calls regarding the case as of Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy D Died From Blood Clot In Lung

Late rapper Heavy D died from a blood clot in his lung, a new report has revealed.

The report, released Tuesday, said that the rapper died from a pulmonary embolism.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the rapper also suffered from deep leg vein thrombosis and heart disease.

Craig Harvey, chief of the Los Angeles County department of coroner, said Heavy D’s death could have been brought on by a clot caused by an extended flight.

The rap legend had recently traveled from London.

The coroner classified his official cause of death as natural and stated that heart disease was also a factor in the rapper’s death.

Heavy D, born Dwight Arrington Myers, died suddenly on November 8.

AHH Stray News: Diddy Sued, New Clipse Album, Lil Wayne, Drake Rumors Cause Melee

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is facing a lawsuit that claims a concert goer was hit in the stomach with a microphone during the filming of an episode of “Making The Band.” Kevin Faraday filed the lawsuit claiming he was in the audience at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, while an episode was filming in 2008. Faraday alleges he was hurt by a man running across the stage in-between performances. Combs, Danity Kane, Bad Boy Entertainment and numerous other defendants were named in the legal papers.

NBA Legend Magic Johnson To Organize Rappers To Unite Against Homophobia, HIV/AIDS

NBA legend Magic Johnson is planning to tackle the issue of homophobia and HIV/AIDS within the Hip-Hop community.

Magic recently marked the 20th anniversary of his announcement that he was HIV positive, along with his retirement from the NBA, which occurred in 1991.

Magic is planning on creating a coalition that will engage rappers to speak out against homophobia and discrimination against gays.

But the main focus of the coalition will be to raise the level of awareness and to break down the stereotypes
about HIV/AIDS.

“What we’re trying to do is reach out to the Hip-Hop community because they have power — power with their voice, power with that mic in their hand and power with the lyrics that they sing,” Magic Johnson told The Huffington Post.

Magic said that he was closely associated with a number of top artists and executives within the Hip-Hop community and those individuals are involved in the early stages of the new organization.

Magic refused to reveal the names of the artists, but he confirmed that “five or six” stars are aligning with the new initiative.

Magic is planning to utilize the collective fan bases of the rap stars to help spread a positive message.

“We’re going to come out next year with everybody and we’ll have a nice big press conference and what we’re going to do, what our plan is, because it’s so important that we rally — not just them, either,” Magic said. “I need the Hip-Hop community but I also need the basketball players and football players. We need a little bit of everybody, so that’s what we’re working on now.”

Young Vito Turns Himself In For The Murder Of Brick Squad Rapper Slim Dunkin

The suspect in the murder of Brick Squad Monopoly rapper Slim Dunkin turned himself in to police Monday (December 26).

Vincent Hardimon, aka Young Vito, turned himself in around 3 pm according to police.

“We got a call from Mr. Hardimon’s attorney. They wanted to turn themselves in to me personally,” Detective David Quinn told WSBTV.

Dunkin was allegedly shot to death by Vito on Friday (December 16) during a fight at an Atlanta recording studio.

According to WSBTV, Vito was out on bond after pulling a gun on two women in April 2011.

Killin’ for Candy and Concords: The Price of Black Life

In recent news, an up and coming rapper was killed in a crowded Atlanta mall. According to authorities, Joe Blackmon, aka “Killa Black,” was standing in line for a pair of Air Jordan Concords when he, accidentally, knocked a Jolly Rancher out of the hand of the man in front of him. The man, described only as “an African American in a black hoodie with saggin’ pants” pumped five rounds in him before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses say that the crowd just stepped over the dying Blackmon like nothing happened ,some even refusing to let paramedics through for fear of losing their places in line… Recently, people were shocked that Brick Squad affiliate, Slim Dunkin, was murdered in an Atlanta studio, allegedly, stemming from a fight over a piece of candy. This tragic event was coupled by media images of mobs of people beating each other senseless over the new Air Jordan XI Concords.

Hip Hop has had its share of deaths; Scott La Rock, Jam Master Jay, Pac, Biggie to name a few. Unfortunately, the ‘hood is full of tales of young brothas losing their lives over stepping on someone’s sneakers or even staring too long at some cat at a stop light. While some may argue that violence permeates society and it is not a “Black issue,” until I see Justin Bieber chasing Justin Timberlake with an AK-47, I beg to differ. Most of the blood spilling on the streets of America pours out of Black bodies, and Hip-Hop is, predominately, made up of Black males.

It must be noted that this thing is bigger than Hip-Hop. The issue here is the value (or lack thereof) that this society places on Black life. Although it is a historical fact that Black folks were once the kings and queens of civilization, around the 15th century the value of Black life begin to drop like the 50 percent off after Christmas sale at WalMart. Man has been fighting man since the beginning of time and despite the historical romanticism, African civilization was not exempt as tribal wars have existed on the continent for thousands of years. However, it was not until the coming of the Portuguese that Black life was given a discount price tag. During that period, European slave traders began to use the existing beefs between tribes to trade Africans for commodities.

As Walter Rodney wrote in “How Europe Underdeveloped Africa,” “it was so easy to set one against another that Europeans called it ‘a slave trader’s paradise.” The worst part of the trade was the exchange of Africans for weapons. According to historian, Joseph Harris in his book, Africans and Their History, “kings were sometimes given firearms to raid neighboring areas in exchange for prisoners of war.” In America, the technique of making the slaves fight against each other was perfected. Herbert Aptheker wrote in American Negro Slave Revolts, “the dividing of the victims against themselves, the use of spies and the encouragement of traitors” were powerful tools to keep the slaves from rebelling.

This divide and conquer strategy was also used in the ‘60s during the Civil Rights /Black Power Movement as the FBI, through its COINTELPRO program, played Black activists against each other. This caused the destruction of groups such as the Black Panther Party and led, ultimately, to the formation of “street gangs” in California. It must be noted that, according to Mike Davis in his book, City of Quartz, the purpose of the original gangs was not to promote Black-on-Black violence, but to protect the ‘hood from white racist gangs such as the “Spookhunters.”

But, after the destruction of the Black Panther Party, gangs such as the Bloods and Crips were formed, and they saw “the enemy” as other Black men. This was escalated by the introduction of high-powered assault weapons and crack into the ‘hood, which Gary Webb in Dark Alliance alleged was a government conspiracy. Simultaneously, you had the growing popularity of Hip-Hop and it was not uncommon during the ‘80s for Black lives to be lost over gold chains, Troop jackets, Jordans, or other articles of clothing worn by their favorite Hip-Hop artists.

So, this leads us to where we are today, with people being beat down for $180 sneakers that cost $12 to make in some sweat shop, and young Black men being killed over candy. Psychologist Dr. Bobby Wright suggested that Black people have been psychologically programmed to kill other Black people. In his essay “The Psychopathic Racial Personality,” he wrote, “historically, the European system has encouraged the killing of Blacks. Because Blacks have been led to believe that they are part of the psychopath’s system, they simply follow the practice.”

We have been conditioned by these historical events to consider Black-on Black conflict not only a cultural norm, but a reason for celebration that is ingrained in the minds of the children, often in very subtle ways. Even something as simple as a Freestyle Friday on “106th & Park” conditions the young Black mind to accept Black-on-Black aggression as normal behavior. Unfortunately, when this “dissin’” is carried into the streets, there are no celebrity judges to hold up score cards – only EMS workers with body bags and toe tags.

Back in 1989, Kool Moe Dee, as part of the Stop the Violence Movement, said, “I never ever ran from the Ku Klux Klan/ So I shouldn’t have to run from a Black man.” Unfortunately, until we deal with the origin of Black-on-Black violence, we will always be “headed for self destruction.”

Joe Blackmon a.k.a. “Blackman” is a composite character representing all of the Black men who have died senselessly.

NBA: Is Dwight Howard Passing On the Bulls Because of Adidas Endorsement?

Adidas has two franchise endorsers: Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard. Rose signed a $94 million extension with the Bulls, and sources say Adidas is working on a lifetime shoe deal for him now. And as one high-ranking sneaker executive says, “Adidas simply cannot have its two signature players on the same team in the same market. … Derrick is the face of that market, owns that market, and Adidas can’t possibly have maximum bang for its buck with Dwight there. Read more after the jump.

@Shay_Marie x @gametimegirl

“It serves Adidas no purpose. They need them as rivals in competing markets.”

Howard knows this, too. He has an Adidas renewal on deck in the next year, and Los Angeles and Brooklyn guarantee him maximum money. The shoes aren’t the sole reason, but it’s a reality. In an NBA where the owners want the superstars worth $50 million and more to make far less than market value, it’s hard to imagine you’ll get them to take far less on endorsements.

For the record, Adidas’ vice president for global basketball, Lawrence Norman, says: “As a partner, we’re completely supportive of Dwight with whatever decision he makes. He’s an outstanding partner with broad appeal to fans across the world.”

Norman is telling the truth: Adidas will still pay Howard well wherever he winds up, but Orlando and Chicago won’t get him paid and marketed the way Los Angeles and Brooklyn will. Rose could become the highest-paid shoe endorser in the NBA with his next Adidas contract, sources said, and remember: Shoe companies don’t market teams. They market individuals. That’s true of the NBA, too.

That’s why Howard will end up with the Lakers or the Nets – Los Angeles or New York. Everything could change with Howard in Chicago, because everything changes with the league’s best center and best point guard on the floor together. Nevertheless, this NBA season starts with Howard in Orlando, and so much of the sport’s balance of power will be dictated by where he ends it.

Police Investigate Murder During French Montana Show

Police in Northern New Jersey are investigating the stabbing death of a man who was killed during a show featuring rapper French Montana.

Over 450 were gathered for a pre-Christmas bashing Friday (December 23) at The Mirage Banquet Hall in Edison, that was promoted by Hot 97′s DJ Wallah and featured French Montana as a surprise performer.

According to reports, French arrived with an entourage of about 40 people, who became unruly when they could not access the VIP section of the hall.

“Everyone was enjoying themselves,” Mirage’s co-owner Shaun Mehtani told The Star-Ledger. “The trouble began when his entourage arrived.”

According to my Mehtani, French Montana’s entourage began arguing with people in the VIP and taking their drinks.

A scuffle ensued, and The Mirage’s 10-man security force was quickly outnumbered.

Security ended the party early, and the 400- 500 strong crowd spilled into the venue’s parking lot.

In the parking lot, several other fights broke out, resulting in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Jayson Perry.

Five other people were also stabbed during the melee, while one man suffered from a superficial gunshot wound.

Prosecutors in Edison and Middlesex New Jersey have opened an investigation into the stabbings and the death of Perry.

"Please say that Drake actually wants to f*ck me up. I will totally fight Drake. One on one. Tell him to name a time and place," Campbell wrote on Twitter. "Can anybody confirm that this Drake guy actually wants to fight? Too funny! A dude who probably wipes his a** with 100$ bills actually cares about me calling him an R&B goofnugget is hilarious. How Time Flies: Take A Look at The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Cast Reunited

TMZ reports:

It's been 15 years since "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" went off the air, but it appears most of the cast members are still friends and actually hang out together.

Will Smith posted this pic of The Banks clan on his official Facebook page, which we're told was taken last week at a luncheon for the charity Sweet Blackberry -- which Karyn Parsons (Hilary) founded.

While Tatyana Ali, some guy, Parsons, Alfonso Ribeiro, James Avery and a pre-bald Smith were all sharing the love, noticeably absent were the two actresses who played the mom/Will's Aunt Vivian.

Some parents just don't understand.

Police Identify Rapper Young Vito As Suspect In Murder Of Slim Dunkin

Atlanta police are closer to catching Slim Dunkin's killer. They have identified Vinson Hardimon aka Young Vito as a suspect in his shooting.

“We want to let the public know that the individual that we believe is responsible in the death of Slim Dunkin, Mr. Mario Hamilton, is in fact Vinson Hardimon, known in rap circles and the recording industry as Young Vito,” Det. David Quinn told WSBTV.

Quinn added that they are urging Hardimon to turn himself in out of fear that he may also be in danger.

“We want to reach out to Young Vito, Vinson Hardimon, to come holla at us,” Quinn said. “I want the family of Mr. Vinson Hardimon to give us a call, let us know. We are fearful for his safety, because we don’t want anything to happen to him.”

Dunkin was shot to death Friday (December 16) at an Atlanta recording studio during a fight that was sparked by an argument over a piece of candy.

Dunkin is being laid to rest today at Berean Christian Church in Atlanta.

50 Cent Joins Star Studded Line Up Of Performers For Tonight's X-Factor Show Finale

X-Factor is pulling out the big guns for tonight's season finale. In addition to crowning a winner from the three remaining contestants Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik, there will also be special performances.

Billboard is reporting that judge L.A. Reid personally reached out to 50 Cent in order to secure a performance from the multi-platinum selling rapper. Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, and Leona Lewis are also scheduled to perform.

The show airs on Fox at 8/7C.

Shawty Lo Hospitalized Due To Diabetes Related Illness. His Manager Says He's Resting & Doing Well

Shawty Lo is recovering after becoming ill Tuesday (December 20) from complications due to diabetes. The G-Unit/D4L rapper was hospitalized, but his manager Johnnie Cabbell said he is now on the mend.

"We appreciate the outpouring of concern and prayers. Shawty Lo was hospitalized yesterday," Cabbell told MTV's Rap Fix. “He suffers from Diabetes and had to seek immediate medical attention, although he is now resting and doing well. He will be able to fulfill his scheduled upcoming performances and appearances."

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 346 million people worldwide suffer from the lifelong chronic disease.

Shawty has lived with it for 11 years. Earlier this year he spoke with HipHopDX about learning to cope with it.

“I’m diabetic. I’ve been diabetic for 11 years now, and first I was in denial when I first became a diabetic because I wanted to stay the same," Shawty said at the time. "But when you learn how to cope with it, you deal with it. I’m trying to teach people who have the disease that you can live with it.”

In June Shawty inked a 50/50 deal with 50 Cent's G-Unit Record Label.

"It's like a new beginning and all I needed was someone behind me," Shawty told AllHipHop in June. "50 [Cent] is a marketing genius and I got my new thing. D4L and G-Unit...we going to be working the south and the rest of the world if need be...my new situation with G-Unit was just solidified and I got off the phone with 50 yesterday, I just signed a really large deal."

Young Buck Assets Face Liquidation

Rapper Young Buck is due in court today, where the fate of his assets will be decided by a bankruptcy court.

According to WKRN Channel 2, in Nashville, a number of the rapper’s possessions could be liquidated today (December 20).

The liquidation is an attempt to satisfy his $300,000 thousand debt to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The IRS raided Young Buck’s home in August of 2010 and seized a number of his valuables, including his recording studio.

But Young Buck has had issues paying off the debt, due to his contractual obligations to 50 Cent’s G-Unit imprint.

50 Cent and G-Unit are one of the creditors Young Buck owes money to.

According to Young Buck’s bankruptcy trustee Jeanne Burton, 50 has opposed the rapper’s reorganization plan under Chapter 11, which is forcing the liquidation.

50 is refusing to release any of Young Buck’s new material, because of a $171,000 debt to G-Unit.

During the bankruptcy proceedings, 50 also filed a $10 million breach of contract lawsuit against Young Buck.

In March of 2011, 50 sued to prevent Young Buck from recording for any other label, due to his contractual obligations to G-Unit.

Young Buck, born David Brown, had hoped to reorganize his finances under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

But Jeanne Burton, the trustee for Buck’s estate, recently recommended that he filed Chapter 7, meaning his assets can be liquidated to satisfy his tax bill.

“At this time, because no agreement has been reached with G-Unit and Curtis Jackson regarding either assumption or rejection for the recording agreement and/or the publishing agreement, the first amended plan cannot be confirmed,” Burton said in previously filed court papers. “The trustee believes and therefore asserts that there is no reasonable likelihood of reorganization at this point.”

An associate of Young Buck is also accused of diverting performance from the rapper and depositing it into an unauthorized bank account, on behalf of Cashville Records.

Rihanna Responds After Dutch Magazine 'Jackie' Calls Her "The Ultimate N*gga B*tch"

Rihanna has fired back at Dutch magazine "Jackie" after an article they ran referred to her as "the ultimate n*ggab*tch."

The popular magazine which has a circulation of almost 58,000 copies a month according to Parlour Magazine. also referred to the singer as Jamaican, when she is actually from Barbados.

Check out the offensive excerpt below.

“She has street cred, she has a ghetto ass and she has a golden throat. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate n*ggab*tch and displays that gladly, and for her that means: what’s on can come off. If that means she’ll be on stage half naked, then so be it. But Dutch winters aren’t like Jamaican ones, so pick a clothing style in which your daughter can resist minus ten. No to the big sunglasses and the pornheels, and yes to the tiger print, pink shizzle and everything that glitters. Now let’s hope she won’t beat anybody up at daycare.”

After receiving tons of criticism the magazine's Editor in Chief Eva Hoeke issued an apology via the publication's Facebook page.

Dear readers,

First: thanks for all your responses. We are of course very fed up over this and especially very shocked. However I’m glad that we’re engaging in a dialogue on this page — not everybody does that. Thanks for this. Other than that I can be brief about this: this should have never happened. Period. While the author meant no harm — the title of the article was intended as a joke — it was a bad joke, to say the least. And that slipped through my, the editor-in-chief’s, fingers. Stupid, painful and sucks for all concerned. The author has been addressed on it, and now I can only ensure that these terms will no longer end up in the magazine. Furthermore I hope that you all believe there was absolutely no racist motive behind the choice of words. It was stupid, it was naive to think that this was an acceptable form of slang — you hear it all the time on tv and radio, then your idea of what is normal apparently shifts — but it was especially misguided: there was no malice behind it. We make our magazine with love, energy and enthusiasm, and it can sometimes happen that someone is out of line. And then you can only do one thing: apologize. And hope that others wish to accept it.

From the bottom of my heart I say it again: we never intended to offend anyone. And I mean that.

Regards,

Eva Hoeke

Whether the apology was genuine or not only they know, but Rihanna fired back at the publication by tweeting Eva directly.

“@evajackie I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights!" Rihanna wrote. "I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000′s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past! You put two words together. @evajackie with the intent of abasement, that made no sense…”N*GGA B*TCH”?!….Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you…F*CK YOU!!!”

This incident is the second one in the last week where Rihanna has been attacked racially. During her Loud tour stop in Lisbon, Portugal last weekend Riri was verbally attacked by a man staying at her hotel.

"I just met the most racist c*nt EVER!!! This man said the craziest sh*t about black women," Rihanna wrote on her Twitter page. "[He] called us dogs, s****, we don't look like sh*t, we don't belong in the same hotels...needless to say, the #N*GGA in me came out! Bajan accent and all! Lol! Turns out the hotel manager's black. Oh and he had the NERVE to diss black people in his Tighty whitey's!!!! SMH...and tbh a lil black wouldn't hurt him."

It's insane to think that we're almost in the year 2012 and even a superstar like Rihanna still gets discriminated against.

AT&T bows to objections, drops bid for T-Mobile

AT&T is ending its $39 billion bid to buy T-Mobile USA, citing fierce government objections.

The Justice Department sued to block the merger Aug. 31, saying it would reduce competition and lead to higher prices.

Executives of the two wireless giants disagreed, but last month they took a step toward terminating the deal when they withdrew their application to the Federal Communications Commission after its chairman also opposed the merger.

AT&T maintained Monday that the wireless phone industry requires more airwave space to expand.

"The AT&T and T-Mobile USA combination would have offered an interim solution to this spectrum shortage," the company said in a news release. "In the absence of such steps, customers will be harmed and needed investment will be stifled."

AT&T's purchase of T-Mobile from Deutsche Telekom of Germany would have made it the largest cellphone company in the United States. AT&T is the country's second-largest wireless carrier, while T-Mobile is the fourth-largest.

The decision was hailed by consumer advocates, who had warned that the merger would concentrate too much power in the hands of a single carrier.

"From the first day that this deal was announced, we have warned regulators, lawmakers, and consumers of the dangerous consequences of this merger," said Parul P. Desai, policy counsel for Consumers Union, according to its website The Consumerist. "Regulators clearly saw through AT&T's claims of better service and saw what we saw - a combined AT&T/T-Mobile would mean higher prices and fewer choices for consumers. It would mean a wireless market dominated by a powerful duopoly with little incentive to compete with other carriers."

The termination of the merger agreement will be a costly one for AT&T, which will take a pretax accounting charge of $4 billion in the current quarter to reflect a breakup fee it agreed to pay Deutsche Telekom.

“AT&T will continue to be aggressive in leading the mobile Internet revolution,” Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman and CEO, said in the news release. But he called on government policymakers to make more spectrum availabe.

“The mobile Internet is a dynamic industry that can be a critical driver in restoring American economic growth and job creation, but only if companies are allowed to react quickly to customer needs and market forces,” he said.

Failure of the deal leaves U.S. consumers with four main options for cell phone service: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.

But long-term prospects for T-Mobile are uncertain. The company's German parent has expressed a desire to exit the U.S. market. Unlike the other major carriers, T-Mobile is not building out its own high-speed, next generation wireless network.

Tech N9ne Performs for Troops in Kuwait Despite Broken Rib

Last weekend, Kansas City, Missouri rapper, Tech N9ne, performed in Kuwait for troops serving in the USO/Armed Forces and showed that he, too, is a soldier.

According to a recent interview on Sway in the Morning’s Shade 45 Sirius/XM Radio show, Tech N9ne unfortunately fell from a helicopter and broke a rib prior to his performance for the hard working troops currently finishing out their final days of war in the Middle East.

“Don’t ever break, crack, or bruise a rib ’cause breathing hurts! But they gave me percocet so it lessens it a lil bit!” the Kansas City rapper Tweeted from the his Twitter account @TechN9ne.

N9ne performed a series of USO shows for service men and women as part of a week-long USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour.

The rapper visited six bases in eight days, signing autographs, posing for photos, and giving thanks to his fans serving our country in the Middle East.

“Scruff master tech just landed in dc from Kuwait on the way to kc with a broken rib from fallin out a helicopter! PAIN!” the self-proclaimed “King of Kansas City” told his fans via Twitter.

Earlier this year, the rapper released “All 6’s and 7’s,” which debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart and #1 on Billboard’s Indie and Rap Charts.

Tech N9ne averages more than 200 shows a year and has sold more than one million albums since he debuted on the rap scene in 1999.

Police Seek Suspects In Yung Joc Home Invasion/Robbery

Police are seeking three armed men who forced their way into Yung Joc’s recording studio and stole $50,000 worth of recording equipment.

Two caretakers arrived at the house, which doubles as a studio and were greeted by three armed men hiding in the bushes.

The criminals then forced their way into the studio at gun point and tied the caretakers up against their will.

They were held for more than an hour, as the three armed men ransacked the house and stole equipment.

The caretakers managed to break free and call 911, but the bandits had fled the scene.

Yung Joc was not home when the robbery took place.

Atlanta police continue to investigate.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il dead at 69

Kim Jong Il, North Korea's longtime dictator who allowed his people to starve while building a vast military, has died of heart failure. His death sparked immediate concern over who is in control of the reclusive state and its nuclear program.

Citing YTN TV, Reuters also reported that North Korea test-fired a short-range missile off the country's east coast on Monday.

A "special broadcast" from the North Korean capital, state media said the 69-year-old died of a heart ailment on a train due to a "great mental and physical strain" on Saturday during a "high intensity field inspection." It said an autopsy was completed on Sunday and "fully confirmed" the diagnosis.

A spokesperson at the Unification Ministry confirmed Kim's death to NBC News. His funeral will be held on December 28.

Maya Angelou Upset With Common For His Frequent Use Of The N-Word In Song "Dreamer" In Which She Recites A Poem

Poet Maya Angelou is upset with one of her biggest supporters.

Angelou wrote and recited a poem for a new song by Common titled "Dreamer" off of his upcoming album The Dreamer/The Believer. The problem between the two stems from the Chicago MC's frequent use of the n-word throughout the song.

The Pulitzer Prize-nominated poet detests the word, which she calls “vulgar and dangerous” to the black community.

“I had no idea that Common was using the piece we had done together on [a track] in which he also used the ‘N’ word numerous times,” Angelou told the New York Post. “I’m surprised and disappointed. I don’t know why he chose to do that. I had never heard him use that [word] before. I admired him so because he wasn’t singing the line of least resistance.”

Common said he thought Angelou knew and understood that he uses the word in his music, but admits he didn't specifically tell her he would be using it in the song they collaborated on.

“I told her what ‘The Dreamer’ was about and what I wanted to get across to people,” he told the Post. “I wanted young people to hear this and feel like they could really accomplish their dreams.”

There was obviously a huge miscommunication between the two. Hopefully they can work out their differences. "Dreamer" is one of the stand out tracks on the album which drops December 20.
